In Gran Explorador we continue incorporating initiatives into the #GivingTuesday project.
An initiative that as we have said is about GIVING, carry on voluntary actions. Because giving we all receive, share and make our hearts shine.
In this post we present the “Tomates Felices” project. A project of Labor Inclusion developed in Huelva and specifically in the population of Arroyomolinos de León. It is a project of labor inclusion of people with mental health problems in which through the cultivation of the garden these people develop a job for which they receive not only a salary but most importantly the inclusion in a social group.
The project began in May 2015 and usually employs around the year about 5 to 6 persons. Their daily work is in the vegetable garden. Growing vegetables as appetizing as pink tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, pumpkins, courgettes, green beans, onions, cauliflowers, spinach, … And during the winter season, Tomates Felices complements its work on the field with some craft activities. Currently they are working on the elaboration of some elements to decorate the Christmas tree. They will then sell them in the local market.
We invite you from Gran Explorador to participate in this project if you are in the area. And if you’re out, just stay tuned for next spring!
Tomates Felices will offer you the possibility to participate in a rural therapy where all those we live in the city, surrounded by concret, polluting smoke and so much ambient light that we find it hard to see the stars, we can collaborate in a rural weekend. Enjoying what is life in the countryside hosted in a rural family, a life lived with the sun as a central axis. Getting up at dawn and picking you up at sunset to talk and share the day in nature.
We take this opportunity to point out that this initiative of Gran Explorador consists in offering you free content with the action of #GivingTuesday. A totally voluntary initiative where we do Eco in the society of volunteering, given that through volunteering we all win.
